Thank you for visiting Masterpiece Woodcrafters!

I have created a unique line of gifts and antique reproductions that are
individually handcrafted utilizing construction methods that were
common prior to the 20th century.  All of the items are made of solid
wood, and are assembled using pegs and glue, dovetail or box joinery,
with no nails used in the construction.  Each piece is individually
assembled, then finished and polished by hand.

Many of my pieces are adorned with punchwork, based primarily on
quilting patterns from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as many
Celtic inspired designs.  Each design is painstakingly punched by
hand, one dot at a time, using an awl and a rawhide mallet that
belonged to my great-grandfather who was also a woodworker.

I am a charter member of both the
Art and Artisans Showcase Elgin
Style and of the Elgin Arts Association, and I served as the first
President of that organization.  In December 2005, I was among the
first to be named a "
Texas Original" by the Texas Commission on
the Arts.

I encourage you to visit my gallery of currently available items.  If
you don't see what you are looking for, drop me a note and let me
know what you would like to see. I regularly make boxes and larger
furniture pieces to order, and a number of these pieces can be seen on
the "Made to Order" page.  Whether it is one of the items pictured, a
different punchwork pattern or something completely different, I am
certain that we can accommodate your wishes.

If you are an 18th or 19th century reenactor or living historian, there
is a section featuring items which are faithful reproductions of original
19th century items located in museums around the country or that
belong to private collectors.  I have also just completed my first
large-scale movie prop rental, and I plan to expand this part of my
business significantly in the coming months.  Please take a look at the
new movie props page on this site to see a number of my pieces on
the set of
The Man Who Came Back.  This movie resulted in my
first screen credit, as Assistant Set Decorator, with a "Special
Thanks" to Masterpiece Woodcrafters.

Again, thank you for visiting Masterpiece Woodcrafters, and I look
forward to working for you.
