I have created a unique line of gifts and antique reproductions that are individually handcrafted utilizing construction methods that were common prior to the 20th century. All of the items are made of solid wood, and are assembled using pegs and glue, dovetail or box joinery, with no nails used in the construction. Each piece is individually assembled, then finished and polished by hand.
Many of my pieces are adorned with punchwork, based primarily on quilting patterns from the 18th and 19th centuries. Each design is painstakingly punched by hand, one dot at a time, using an awl and a rawhide mallet that belonged to my great-grandfather who was also a woodworker.
I encourage you to visit my gallery of currently available items. If you don't see what you are looking for, drop me a note and let me know what you would like to see. I regularly make boxes and larger furniture pieces to order, and a number of these pieces can be seen on the "Made to Order" page. Whether it is one of the items pictured, a different punchwork pattern or something completely different, I am certain that we can accommodate your wishes.
If you are an 18th or 19th century reenactor or living historian, there is a section featuring items which are faithful reproductions of original 19th century items located in museums around the country or that belong to private collectors. I have also just completed my first large-scale movie prop rental, and I plan to expand this part of my business significantly in the coming months. Please take a look at the new movie props page on this site to see a number of my pieces on the set of The Man Who Came Back, scheduled for theatrical release later this year.
Again, thank you for visiting Masterpiece Woodcrafters, and I look forward to working for you.
